How to use a wheel picker for names, food and tasks
A wheel picker turns a list of choices into a spinning wheel. PickLah lets you write your own options and spin to choose one, whether you are picking a person, planning lunch or deciding what to do next.
Make your wheelSet up your first wheel
- Open PickLah and choose Choices. On a computer, the editor is next to the wheel.
- Give your wheel a title. Add each option as a separate entry, or paste a list with one choice per line. TXT, CSV and Excel imports are also supported; for spreadsheets, use the first column of the first sheet.
- Remove options you do not want. Tap a colour dot to change a section's colour, emoji or image.
- Return to Wheel and select Spin. The result appears after the wheel stops.
Use the wheel as a random name picker
Add one person's name per entry. This works for choosing who goes first in a game, allocating a group task or choosing a participant for an activity. For example, add Alex, Mei, Ravi and Sara, then spin to choose one person.
Check the list before spinning: duplicate names create separate entries. If you want one entry per person, remove duplicates. Avoid entering sensitive personal information, particularly if you intend to share your screen.
For a turn order, enable the remove-winners setting rather than manually deleting each winning name.
Cannot decide what to eat? Make a food wheel
Start with the What makan? template for Malaysian food choices, or use Where should we eat? to build a shortlist of places. Replace the suggestions with options you actually want and can get nearby.
A useful lunch wheel might contain nasi lemak, pan mee, chicken rice and roti canai. For a group, first exclude choices that do not meet everyone's dietary needs or budget, then spin the remaining options. The wheel chooses from your list; it does not look up restaurant availability or dietary information.
Choose tasks or names without repeats
By default, choices remain eligible after every spin, so the same option can win again. Enable Remove winners from the next spin to pick without replacement.
The previous winner is excluded when the next spin begins. The final remaining entry can still win. Use Restart round to restore all entries. Editing the wheel or turning off this option also resets the round. This setting does not delete your saved choices.
You can use the same approach for a list of chores, practice prompts, games or movies when you want to work through every option.
Keep your draft on your device
You do not need an account to edit and spin. PickLah saves your wheel draft on the device you are using. Signing in does not automatically upload it or sync it between phones and computers. Clearing browser or app storage removes local drafts.

What does “random picker wheel” mean?
It means the tool selects an entry from the choices you provide instead of ranking them by preference. The spinning animation shows the chosen result. If you want certain possibilities excluded, edit your list before spinning. A wheel is useful for everyday choices; it cannot decide whether an option is safe, appropriate or suitable for you.
